Kursura (Submarine) Museum
INS Kursura is the submarine of Indian Navy which has been converted into Museum. The main objective is to present everyone about the submarine arm, hardships of submariners and the glory of Indian Navy which motivates the youth to be part of Indian naval. It has the collection of evolution of submarine arms through photographs, written scripts and artifacts.
Victory at sea
Victory at Sea is a War monument or Memorial was built for the symbol of victory of Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command(ENC) during Indo Pak War. War Monument was constructed in 1996 by ENC for the honour to the Indian Navy Victory at Sea in 1971 during War. ENC destroyed the Pakistan submarine Ghazi which tried to enter and attack the Naval base in Vizag during war time. It is situated near Rama Krishna beach just opposite to the Submarine Museum. This Memorial is dedicated to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for protecting country. Besides the monument a war tank and fighter plane are exhibited which are symbolizing the power in land and air components respectively along with surface missiles and air missiles are exhibited which are used in battle ships.
Submarine Museum and Victory at Sea monuments are some of the additional attractions of not only Visakhapatnam but also to our India. They are build to honor and remember the soldiers who sacrifices their lives and who went through hard ships to protect country and motivates youth to join Indian Navy.
Shilparamam (arts and crafts village )
Shilparamam is known by the name ‘Jatara’ established to promote and restore the culture of India located in Madhurawada,Visakhapatnam.It hosts diverse ethnic arts, crafts and cultural forms from all over the country.
